Drawing is a way to immerse oneself totally in the subject matter at hand - it is a meditation of sorts. Drawing gives one an opportunity to study and engage the subject matter, offering a unique time for reflection and connection.
The drawings below are the results of trips to County Clare, Ireland - they represent structures and elements that exist in the Clare landscape. More importantly, their purpose is to convey a visual interpretation of “the sense” or “personality” of the landscape in this region of Ireland.
The drawings were created as studies with the intent to someday appear in more complex illustrations and/or fine art pieces.
The pen and ink drawing to the left is a study from a photograph of an English Forest by Richard Kraus.
